50’s Starlet

Most days I scrape my palette clear, and for a number of years I have been then transferring the small amounts of surplus paint onto primed wooden boards, the result of this process is a thick, ridged impasto surface. I have an archive of printed images that I enjoy looking at, some of which are highly staged publicity shots from the past. I decided to marry the two, bringing together a surface that is all about the medium and images where the only concern is the subject and the flawless presentation thereof.
